“I don’t think today’s achievements have sunk in yet. I thought it was cool seeing Brodie (Kostecki) winning the championship last year and I was in Broc’s situation so I knew how it felt, but right now I don’t know how to take it – it’s really exciting. It’s been something I’ve been working towards for a long time now and to join Red Bull Ampol Racing this year and win with them in my first year is fantastic. I just want to thank everyone in the team who have done a faultless job all year – that’s why we’re in this position. I also want to thank my teammate, Broc. I turn up every weekend thinking he’s going to beat me, so I have to turn up and compete as best as I can and make sure we’re fast. That’s why I think we’re both up here being one-two in the championship. I’ve also loved working with Andrew (Edwards) this year. He’s a super smart guy and we worked so closely in the off season to get to where we are today and made me step up to another level. I think last year I had good raw pace but I didn’t put it together every weekend and I wasn’t consistent. I really wanted to win the championship this year and I knew that would take consistency, and to get a podium every round this year is really cool.”

“Today isn’t about me today. It was really cool to win today’s race, but tomorrow’s the one we want to win. Obviously Will’s wrapped up the championship, so massive congratulations to him and his team. I knew it was going to be very hard this weekend to get the job done, but I knew we had to win the race. At the start I didn’t really know how to manage that because I was struggling a little bit, but the team did a great job putting me in clean air, and we had a really fast race car in the end. I did all I could and I’m proud of the effort we put in, especially in the back half of the year after Tasmania when we were taken out, we were really strong after that. I’m pumped for the team – my crew’s done a great job.”
